Waterford Celebrates 5th Anniversary as a Fairtrade City

Waterford celebrates its 5th Anniversary as a Fairtrade City with a Fairtrade luncheon provided by students from the Waterford Institute of Technology’s School of Tourism and Hospitality.  Along with the City, WIT was recognised for being the first third level institution in Ireland to switch to Fairtrade.

Africa Day

Waterford celebrated Africa Day on May 25, 2010 with a showing of the film, Kicking It, which chronicles the story of the 2006 Homeless World Cup. The film was followed by a reception featuring African music, food and dance.  the programme also featured a daytime showing of the film to second level students which was accompanied by workshops given by Centre staff.
