Fairtrade
Fairtrade is a movement to help producers in developing countries gain fair access to the world market, avoid exploitation, child labour and environmental damage. In order to help consumers identify fairly traded goods, a ‘Fairtrade Mark’ was developed. When you see the Fairtrade logo, you know that the people who made the products have been paid fairly for their work.
Each year, Fairtrade Fortnight highlights the efforts of Fairtrade groups to raise consumer awareness and educate people about the impacts of an unfair world trade system. If you would like to get involved in a Fairtrade campaign, please visit Fairtrade Mark Ireland for more information.
